Can students check SEVIS status?

Notes about student's actions:
Students cannot access SEVIS. Students can change their contact and employment information up to 15 days after the end date of their optional practical training (OPT).

Is SEVP portal mandatory?

The SEVP Portal is optional and not required by federal regulations. Students who choose to use the Portal to report information are still required to report that same information in My OIS.
