What is a hardship fund for students?

The Hardship Fund is funded by City, University of London and the City Alumni. It provides discretionary financial support for students who are in financial hardship or who face an unexpected financial emergency during their course.

How much do you get on student hardship?

How much could I receive? If your application is successful, you could receive between £100 - £3,500. Awards will be made at 75% of any your calculated shortfall, unless you have dependants or a work-limiting disability.

How much hardship fund can you get?

If your reason for applying for a hardship payment is particularly severe, you could get up to 80% of your normal payments.

How long does hardship fund take?

Please be aware, fully completed applications can take up to four weeks to process. Please keep checking your online application and do not contact the University for a status update on your application until after four weeks have passed.
