What is the Posse process?

Posse is looking for students who may be overlooked by the traditional college admissions process. Think about students who are leaders in their community, school, and/or home; who demonstrate academic potential; and who want to go to college with a Posse—a diverse cohort of 10 students.

What is Posse looking for?

Posse seeks students who are:
Leaders in their high schools and communities. Committed to their education and those who demonstrate academic potential. Interested in teamwork and diversity. Positive, motivated, talented, ambitious young people.

What GPA do you need for Posse?

Applications will be open from April 26th through May 13th for Posse Scholars. Juniors should have a minimum GPA of 3.25 and above average (over 1000) on SAT EBRW + Math, and special consideration for underrepresented students.

How are Posse Scholars selected?

Posse scholars are chosen in the same manner as athletic scholarships are given to students with certain talents, because they add desirable qualities to the table. All Posse Scholars must complete the Free Federal Student Aid Program (FAFSA) form.

How many people are nominated for the Posse scholarship?

More than 17,000 students from across the country were nominated for the Posse Scholarship. The new Scholars were selected during Posse's multi-stage Dynamic Assessment Process, which identifies leaders who can excel at top institutions but may be overlooked by traditional college admission processes.

How competitive is the Posse scholarship?

Posse Scholars graduate at a rate of 90 percent. Since 1989, Posse's partner colleges have awarded $1.6 billion in scholarships to Scholars. More than 10,000 Scholars have been selected to date.
